Take The Challenge!  Are you ready for this?

What is the purpose of this exercise?

II Corinthians 13:5

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith.  Test yourselves.  Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?

Where am I?

We will present scripture verses relative to four broad categories: Non-believers, Believers, Disciple, and Fathers (and mothers) in the faith.  We ask you to consider each verse, and ask yourself how each verse may apply to your own life.  And then answer the question:  Who am I?  A non-believer, a believer, a disciple, or a father in the faith?

NON-BELIEVER                     BELIEVER                        DISCIPLE                        FATHERS AND MOTHERS

The next question we need to ask ourselves, is who do I want to be?

The Bible makes one thing clear:  We all have made a choice.  The good news is that it is not too late to change.  As long as we have breath, we can move from being a non-believer to become a believer, even to becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ.  If we discover ourselves a believer, but perhaps never having made the decision to become a disciple of Jesus, it is not too late to make that choice also.

I have one premise:  That is, that the absolute best thing we can do with our lives, and the most fulfilling pursuit in life, is to be a fully devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.  We encourage every person, to move beyond mere belief in Jesus, to become a true disciple of Christ!

The Consequence of Unbelief.

Revelation 21:6-8

And He said to me, "It is done.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.  I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.  He who overcomes shall inherit all things and I will be his God and he shall be My son.  But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Belief:  A firm foundation

Luke 16:15,16

And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  He who believes and is baptized will be saved:  but he who does not believe will be condemned."

Works of faith

James 2:14-17

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?  Can faith save him?  If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Holding our faith until the end

Hebrews 3:12-14

Beware brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;  but exhort one another daily, while it is called  "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.

The benefit of discipleship

John 8:31,32

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

True fathers (and mothers) in the faith

I Corinthians 4:14,15

I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you.  For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers:  for in Christ Jesus, I have begotten you through the gospel.
